Hyatt – latest hotel chain to get hacked

Hyatt has become the latest victim among hotel chains to get it’s system hacked. The company has announced that it has discovered credit card stealing malware in the payment system.

Hyatt has not disclosed how many customers’ data has been compromised but has confirmed that an investigation has already been started and customers have to look out for any suspicious charges. It is also reported that the data breach was discovered on November 30th.

“We recently identified malware on computers that operate the payment processing systems for Hyatt-managed locations. As soon as we discovered the activity, we launched an investigation and engaged leading third-party cyber security experts”, said Hyatt in a statement.

 

Recently Hilton and Starwood both confirmed data breaches, and before that the Trump Hotel Collection also announced that malware may have been active for more than a year.
