After numerous rumors, Vivo today announced new flagship phone from the company – Vivo Xplay 5 Elite in a launch event held at China. The smartphone is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 820 Chipset along with a whopping 6GB RAM!
Vivo Xplay 5 will be launched in two versions – Xplay 5 and Xplay 5 Elite of which the latter is more powerful as mentioned earlier. Vivo Xplay 5 has the same design as Xplay 5 Elite except for the chipset which has been replaced by Snapdragon 652 and 4GB RAM. Both the phones flaunt an all metal body with 5.43″ QHD display protected by Gorilla Glass 4, 16MP rear camera and a 8MP front snapper. There is 128GB non expandable storage on both the phones, a finger print sensor on the back and a 3600 mAh battery.
Just to recall, the Snapdragon 820 chipset packs a custom quad-core Kryo processor and Adreno 530 GPU where as the Snapdragon 652 offers an octa-core processor with 4xCortex-A72 at 1.8GHz + 4xCortex-A53 at 1.4GHz, and Adreno 510 GPU. There is no word on the international availability yet but we hope Vivo to launch these phones in other markets as well.
