We all know there is a Mother’s Day, Women’s Day, Valentine’s Day etc. but how many of us really knew that the third Saturday of May is celebrated as World Whisky day every year? I certainly did not know until recently my friend brought it up in a conversation we were having. And yesterday being the World Whisky Day, I was lucky enough to get an invite to attend the #LoveScotch event which was organized to celebrate the day.
The event was organized at Shangri-La Hotel in Bengaluru and in attendance was media, blogging community and the super cool celebrities – Dino Morea, Mandira Bedi, Randeep Hooda and International model Coco Rocha who is also the ambassador for #LoveScotch event. The event started off with photo sessions with the celebrities followed by a brief interactive session between media/bloggers and the celebrities.
Following the photo session, it was time for everyone to have some nice whisky cocktails and tasty food after which there was a Q&A session with the celebrities about their love for scotch and some tips for whisky lovers. There were also many lighter moments where Bengaluru boy Dino and Randeep were pulling everyone’s leg 🙂  Couple of things the celebrities had to say about scotch:
“A glass of scotch with some ginger ale is one of my top two cocktail combinations” – Coco Rocha
“I don’t generally pair my glass of scotch with food. It’s either before or after a meal. I generally like to share a glass of scotch with my father” – Mandira Bedi
Everyone then headed to the bar where Dino and Randeep tried to make some real good whisky cocktails for Coco and Mandira and I must say they were quick learners and quite impressive.
As final session of the event, we all went pub hopping to Skyye Bar and Sanchos (both in UB City) with the celebrities. Mandira Bedi tried her hand at making a whisky cocktail for the others at Skyye bar and Coco tried making one at Sanchos for the group.
