Last week we saw the official announcement of Aquaris E4.5 which is the world’s first Ubuntu powered smartphone. The phone goes on sale today in Europe but we already have an short unboxing video of the device, thanks to Youtube user Jordan Keyes. In the video, Jordan shows us the UI of the ubuntu phone and also the unique feature called “Scopes” which brings you feeds based on filters.
As you can see in the video, the user interface of the Aquaris E4.5 is a bit laggy and it should not be a surprise given that this is the first device running the OS and the device itself is a mid-ranger considering the specs like an unnamed MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3 GHz paired with 1GB RAM. Hopefully we will have devices with better hardware and software optimizations soon enough to draw the developers towards this new mobile platform.
