Nintendo has launched it’s latest gaming console – Switch. The console is a hybrid mobile and home console with detachable controllers and a tablet like slate with screen which Nintendo calls “the Switch Console”. The Nintendo Switch will be released worldwide in March 2017.
The Switch console has a screen that can be plugged in to a “Switch Dock” connected to the TV to make it the home entertainment system and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. If you are on the go, then the slate can be used as a standalone hand held console like the Wii U gamepad. The controllers are called Joy Con which can be attached to a central unit called “Joy Con Grip” to become a single controller. The controllers can also slide onto the sides of the Switch console to get the Wii U like experience. If you want to play with your friend, they can also be used as separate controllers acting as mini gamepads. The list of developers and publishers supporting Switch are Activision, Atlus, Bethesda, Capcom, EA, Epic Games, Konami, PlatinumGames, Square Enix, Take-Two and Ubisoft.
“Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like, it gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries”, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said.
