OnePlus 5 launched with dual cameras and up to 8GB RAM

After numerous leaks and rumors, OnePlus 5 has been finally launched by the company worldwide. As expected, the device comes with dual camera setup on the back and in 6GB/8GB RAM variants.

The device packs latest Snapdragon 835 processor which has eight CPU cores capable of running at up to 2.45GHz and paired with either 6GB RAM or 8GB RAM depending on the variant. The 5.5-inch FHD optic AMOLED screen is retained from OnePlus 3T protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The internal memory is 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 fast storage, has a 3300mAh battery with support for DASH charging, Bluetooth 5.0 and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with OxygenOS.

OnePlus has always focused on the processing power in the smartphones and not on the cameras. With OnePlus 5, the company has stepped up by providing a dual camera setup similar to the iPhone 7 plus. There is a 16MP sensor (Sony IMX 398) with a large f/1.7 aperture and Electronic Image Stabilization (no OIS!) and a 20MP telephoto lens with f/2.6 for lossless optical zoom up to 1.6x. Just like iPhone 7 Plus, the camera also offers a Portrait mode which utilizes the secondary sensor to provide the bokeh effect.
