OnePlus has decided to go premium and make an all-out flagship device that could compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S10, Huawei P30 Pro and Apple iPhone Xs. The result is OnePlus 7 Pro which costs around half the price of other flagships yet ships with some of the best features available in a smartphone today.
The device comes with a bezel-less 6.67 inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz which is a first for any consumer smartphone barring the gaming phones like Razer. Under the hood, there is the latest and powerful Snapdragon 855 Chipset paired with either 6/8/12GB RAM. OnePlus 7 Pro is also the first device in the world to be equipped with UFS 3.0 storage for faster reads and writes and is offered in 128GB or 256GB options. The company has upgraded the in-display fingerprint reader to a larger 3rd generation sensor and a new lens assembly which boasts much faster unlock times. There is still no 3.5mm audio jack and the phone has stereo speakers developed in collaboration with Dolby.
In order to achieve the full bezel-less display, OnePlus has implemented the pop-up style selfie camera similar to Vivo, which is a 16MP Sony IMX471 camera. The pop-up module is said to be very durable just like the one in Vivo. On the back, there a triple camera setup that consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera, an 8MP Telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom and a 16MP Ultra-wide-angle lens with 117 degrees FOV. OnePlus 7 Pro can shoot 4K videos at 30/60 fps, 1080P video at 30/60 fps and Super Slow Motion: 1080p video at 240 fps, 720p video at 480 fps.
The phone runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 9 and the company promises 2 full version upgrades and 3 years security patches just like other OnePlus devices. There is a 4000mAh battery and the company provides the 30W Warp Charger for fast charging.
OnePlus 7 Pro is available on Amazon India and at Oneplus stores with a starting price of INR 48,999 for the 8GB variant and available in three colors – Nebula Blue, Mirror Gray and Almond.
