Huawei has launched the latest flagship device under it’s Honor sub-brand, the Honor 8 Pro. The device is a successor to the Honor 8 that was launched last year and packs some serious hardware to be in the elite list of flagships launched this year.
The device has all metal body with a 5.7 inch QHD screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, it has latest HiSilicon Kirin 960 Octa-Core processor (4xCortex-A73@2.4GHz + 4xCortex-A53@1.8GHz), i6 co-processor and octa-core Mali-G71 GPU. There is 6GB of RAM for enhanced performance and 128GB of internal memory to store media and applications. The phone runs on EMUI 5.1 which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and has a 4000mAh battery. The device will be bundled with a 9V/2A fast charger, standard USB-C cable in a box that can also be used as a VR headset.
Honor 8 Pro retains the dual lens setup from it’s predecessor but works similar to the one in Huawei’s P series phones. There is a 12 + 12 megapixel dual lens camera where one captures color and the other is a monochrome sensor. The monochrome lens captures a black-and- white image with incredible depth of detail while the RGB lens ensures vivid color reproduction. You also get the wide range of aperture (f/0.95–f/16) like other Huawei flagship phones for DSLR-like depth of field effects.
The Honor 8 Pro will be exclusively available to Prime members on Prime Day starting 6 PM on July 10th and for non-prime members from July 13th on Amazon.in priced at INR 29,999 for the 6+128GB storage variant. The phone will be available in Midnight Black and Navy Blue color options. At this price, the device is certainly a big competition to the already launched OnePlus 5 which packs similar features.
