Poco F2 Pro is now officially the successor to the “flagship killer” Poco F1 that was launched two years ago. Poco, the sub-brand of Xiaomi had garnered a lot of interest and also was a fan favorite in the Indian sub-continent for launching Poco F1 that went on to become one of the most loved flagship phones. And now, they are back with their latest flagship device to take on the likes of OnePlus 8.
Poco F2 Pro has a 6.67” Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and support for HDR+. The switch to the AMOLED screen has also enabled the company to move the fingerprint scanner beneath the screen. The refresh rate is standard 60Hz but the touch sampling rate is now 180Hz.
Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, the phone is available with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. On the storage side, you get 128GB or 256GB without the option of expansion but it is the fast UFS3.1. The company has provided LiquidCool 2.0 tech which consists of graphite, graphene, and the “Super VC”. The vapor chamber is claimed to be larger than all the competing phones as per the company.
Poco F2 Pro features a quad-camera setup at the back – a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, 13MP Ultra-wide angle camera, 5MP Telemacro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The chipset allows you to shoot 8k videos at 30fps and 4k videos at 60fps. The 5MP Telemacro camera allows for a 2x Zoom and also takes care of macro shots. On the front, there a motorized pop-up 20MP camera that takes care of the selfies. This pop-up camera has enabled the device to have a full screen without any notch or punch hole.
The phone’s battery is now increased to 4,700mAh with 30W fast charging. Poco F2 Pro will run Android 10 out of the box with Poco Launcher 2.0 which should not contain any ads like the MiUi. A worthy mention is that Poco has not removed the 3.5mm audio jack which means a lot to the audiophiles out there.
Poco F2 Pro will be available online starting at €500 for the 6/128GB version and €600 for the 8/256GB version. Initially, the phone will be available on AliExpress and Gearbest, all other online and offline retailers will be getting it later.
