Xiaomi recently celebrated the success of Redmi smartphones in India after it was announced as the company’s best selling series. And today, the company has launched new Redmi 4 variants in China as successors to the Redmi 3/3s/Pro/Prime smartphones. Let us take a look at what the new devices offer in terms of design and hardware.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A:
- Cheapest variant, with all metal body, 5″ IPS screen of 720p resolution
- Snapdragon 425 chipset with a quad-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 308
- 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable memory and 3,120 mAh battery
- 13MP main camera accompanied by a single LED flash, a 5MP selfie camera at the front
- MIUI v.8 on top of Android Marshmallow
Xiaomi Redmi 4:
- 5″ IPS screen of 720p resolution and a 2.5D glass for protection
- Snapdragon 430 chip with an octa-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 505 GPU
- 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage on a hybrid dual-SIM slot
- 13MP main camera with PDAF and dual-LED flash, 5MP selfie shooter is the same as on the 4A model
- 4,100 mAh battery and an always-on fingerprint scanner at the back
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro:
- 5″ IPS screen of 1080p resolution
- Snapdragon 625 with an octa-core 2.0GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 506 GPU
- 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage on a hybrid dual-SIM slot
- 13MP main camera with PDAF and dual-tone dual-LED flash, 5MP selfie shooter
- 4,100 mAh battery and an always-on fingerprint scanner at the back
The phones are priced at $74, $104 and $133 respectively with sales starting next week in China. We are sure these phones will hit other markets as well given how successful their predecessors were.
