Honor 8 Lite with EMUI 5 launched in India

Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor has been pretty active in the mid-range smartphone segment and only recently launched the Honor 6X with a dual camera setup.  The company has now launched a downgraded “Lite” variant of the Honor 8 smartphone.

Honor 8 Lite

Honor 8 Lite follows in the footsteps of the original device in terms of design and retains the glass-metal body. It features a 5.2″ FHD LCD display and 7.6 mm slim body with 2.5D curved glass on both the sides giving the device a premium look. Under the hood we have KIRIN 655 (16nm Technology) along with i5 coprocessor which is also used in the Honor 6X mobile and is almost as powerful as the SD625 from Qualcomm. There is 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage, fingerprint scanner at the back and a 3000mAh battery to keep the device powered. Honor 8 Lite will be the first device from the company to run on EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.

Honor 8 Lite comes with only one 12MP camera at the back unlike the expensive one with dual camera setup. The camera has a pixel size of 1.25um and BSI CMOS sensor which allows you to capture bright pictures even at low light conditions according to the company. On the front there is a 8MP selfie camera with F2.0 and 77° wide angle lens along with beauty mode options to take stunning selfies.

The device will be available in black color initially and the blue variant will be launched after few days. The Honor 8 Lite will come with 15 month service warranty along with Honor’s signature door pick-up and drop after sale facilities offering additional piece of mind for the consumer. The phone is available starting today at a price of Rs. 17,999 in all the Honor partner stores across India.
