OnePlus 5T launched with Immersive screen and Face Unlock

Most of the companies launch flagship devices once a year to keep the loyal fans happy and provide new hardware and software features. With a tagline of “Never Settle”,  OnePlus has launched their latest device – the OnePlus 5T, allowing things to literally not settle with the predecessor launched only a few months back.

OnePlus 5T

The latest device has the same SD835 processor and 6GB/8GB  main memory but an upgraded screen and camera setup. OnePlus 5T comes with a 6” Optic AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution. The design is similar to many of the phones launched with similar displays. With screen occupying entire space, the fingerprint is now placed at the rear below the camera. But the company has also introduced “Face Unlock” feature to unlock the device without needing to use the fingerprint sensor. The company claims it can recognize the faces even when wearing a scarf or in low light, and also the feature cannot be used for payments or other app authentications.

The previous device had a dual camera setup at the back with a secondary telephoto lens, but the company has changed the setup with 5T. The dual camera setup now has the original primary camera with f/1.7 and a secondary 20MP sensor with the same f/1.7 aperture. The secondary camera will be combining 4 pixels into one to reduce noise and produce better low-light pictures. The battery is still 3,300mAh and features the Dash charge.

The device will be available from November 21st in North America, much of Europe and India. The pricing in India isINR 32,999 for the 64GB and INR 37,999 for the 128GB model which is same as OnePlus 5 pricing.  The device will be exclusive to Amazon in India just like the previous ones with early access to prime members.
