OnePlus 6 launched with a “Notch” and SD845

We have been seeing a lot of phones with the “Notch” in 2018 and OnePlus has followed the trend with it’s latest flagship device – OnePlus 6.  This is the company’s first device of this year and comes with Snapdragon 845, a full-screen display with Notch, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

OnePlus 6 comes with a new glass design on the back and a 6.28” Optic AMOLED display on the front with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,280 px. It has a 19:9 aspect ratio and covers around 84% on the front excluding the notch and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Internally, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, Snapdragon 845 clocked up to 2.8 GHz along with Adreno 630 to take care of intensive tasks and gaming. On the memory side, you get either 6GB or 8GB of RAM with internal storage of 64 or 128 or 256 GB depending on the variants.

Just like the previous model, OnePlus 6 also features a dual camera setup – 16 MP main sensor with f/1.7 and OIS + EIS, along with a 20MP secondary camera with the same f/1.7 aperture. The dual camera setup is mainly used for enhanced low-light photography and portrait modes and so this is not a telephoto or wide-angle implementation like other flagship devices. The main camera is capable of recording 4k videos at 60fps and even 480 fps slow-mo videos at 720p resolution for 3.75s. There is a 16MP front camera for selfies which also features portrait mode but with AI and added filters to enhance the pictures. This can be also used for face unlock which was introduced in the OnePlus 5T.

There is a 3,300mAh battery along with the company’s proprietary Dash charging, which gives you a day’s battery life with just 30mins of charging. Though the design consists of glass back, there is no support for wireless charging in the new OnePlus 6. The device is also now water resistant by design but we are not sure about the level of resistance or the rating.
